The long awaited SMS sending feature for the iPhone Skype application is finally here!

iPhone replacing “Xx” with “Fx” – FIXED In OS 3.0

At last!

The “feature” that replaced Xx with Fx has been fixed in OS 3.0!

Another thing I have noticed is with “lol” – Before the OS 3.0 update, if I typed lol, it would change it to UPPERCASE. Now, however, it leaves it as i typed it.

iPhone – No folder management support for Exchange

One big thing for me with regards to the iPhone Microsoft Exchange integration is the inability to create and manage folders.

I am one of those people that religiously file emails away once dealt with – for example, I have an "eBay" folder, with "buying" and "selling" sub folders for all the emails relating to my purchases and sales.

The iPhone (unlike Windows mobile devices) has no ability to create, delete or rename folders on the Exchange server, which is a bit of a shame.

I was hoping they would include this in the OS 3.0 update.

iPhone OS 3.0 Available For Download

Although the official site does not have a link indicating this, the OS 3.0 is available for download.

To download, load iTunes, under devices (I take it you’ve plugged in your iPhone) click on your iPhone.

In the summary tab, click the Update button… voila!

iPhone OS 3.0 Update – NOT delayed

Today, is OS 3.0 launch day. Or so we were led to believe by Apple…
There has been much confusion about the release date / time for the iPhone OS 3.0 update.

This is because the official Apple site suddenly displayed that it was available on the 18th (see below)

That’s what a bunch of people on twitter suddenly started tweeting….
and, displaying the URL to prove it!

This apparent update, created a whole whirlwind on various news sites about a delay… however, it seems that this date is correct.
In Singapore.

If we take a look at the URL in the address bar, where this date is displayed:

Yes, the /sg/ represents the Singapore version of the site, which, due to the international date line, will receive the update tomorrow.

Checking the www.apple.com/uk/iphone/softwareupdate site, shows what I would expect: Available June 17th.

What time, however, is anyone’s guess.

I’ve heard rumours of 3pm, 6pm, 9pm…. so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

How To Take Screenshots Of The iPhone

Ever wondered how they take those screenshot of applications on an iPhone? Simple:

Press and hold the home button
Press the lock / on / off button on the top.

Below is an image illustrating this a bit better.

The image is then stored in your camera roll, and you can get it the same way you get at all the other photos on your iPhone.
